May Favorites 2016

Considering I'm posting on the first of the month, I decided to do a monthly favorites post this week. As consumerist trash--a term I lovingly refer to myself as--I experience great excitement when I purchase a new product, and when I love a product, I get even happier. However, since I am a poor (newly-graduated) 22-year-old, I did not purchase too much this month, but all that means is that the stuff I purchased got even more love than it probably needed. So without further ado, here are my May favorites.

bareMinerals Oil Obsessed Total Cleansing Oil*
$30 ulta.com
I decided to jump on the cleansing oil bandwagon when I found this one at Ulta. I am a fan of bareMinerals skincare products, so I decided to lose my cleansing oil virginity to this one. It smells delicious and I love how effortlessly it removes all of my makeup--including my mascara. Do you know the last time I had eyelashes without any mascara on them before this product? Probably like a year ago.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15*
So I went into this knowing I'd fall in love with this product. About a year ago, I saw the packaging for the Rainforest of the Sea line on tarte's Instagram, but the line was never released, so when it suddenly appeared again, I knew I had to have it. I literally had to wait like a month after the release because my shade (fair neutral) was constantly sold out at my local Sephora and I don't like to order foundation online if it's my first use. But the foundation was definitely worth the wait. The packaging is beautiful and the application is flawless. In fact, I've never gotten so many compliments on my skin until I started using this foundation.

Sun Bum SPF 30 Original Sunscreen Lotion
This actually wasn't my first time purchasing this product, but every time I use it, I get so happy! I've been cruelty-free for about three years now and buying sunscreen has always been so difficult (although it has gotten easier now that cruelty-free is more popular). Thus, when I discovered Sun Bum last summer, I freaked out. It is by far my favorite cruelty-free sunscreen and it smells slightly of bananas, in my opinion, which is definitely a plus. The website is also pretty amusing. I suggest taking a look.

LUSH BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask
$7.95 (only available in-store) lush.com
I am a huge fan of masks and am constantly trying out new ones. Usually I like masks that get really tight on my skin because I feel like they're working that way, but even without this mask getting tight, I really enjoyed using it. It definitely left my skin feeling soft and clean and as if that wasn't enough, the smell reminded me of these rosemary cupcakes I by sometimes and who doesn't want to think about cupcakes while they're masking?

Pure Life Soap Co. Coconut Milk & Honey Shampoo
(Note: The Pure Life Soap Co. Website is still working on its shop, so I am not sure how much I spent on this product. I bought it at my local grocery store and I think it was between $10 and $15) purelifesoap.com
I have dry and damaged hair and honestly, buying cruelty-free isn't the best for it. That's why I fell in love with this product. It leaves my hair feeling so soft and since it uses coconut milk and honey--two really good products for dry hair (I've been told; I'm not a hair expert by any means)--I trust that it's actually helping rather than just masking the dryness. And the company are cruelty-free, for the record.

BODUM Pour Over Coffee Maker
$30 bodum.com
Coffee is one of my favorite things in the world and pour over coffee is seriously delicious. Not to mention this pour over coffee maker comes with a permanent filter and is ridiculously easy to clean. Since you do have to literally pour water over the grounds, though, it is not the quickest coffee process, but it makes my lazy summer mornings feel slightly pampering.

Sunglasses from Target
$16.99 target.com
I have the worst face for sunglasses. I don't know what it is, but every single pair of sunglasses looks weird on me. I think it's because my face is pretty tiny. But these ones look pretty okay and they weren't too expensive (I inevitably lose/break my sunglasses every season, so there's no point in investing in a name brand pair).

I hope you guys get some use out of this post and let me know what you've been loving from the month of May!
